30 Days of Truth - Day 15: Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.

Yaaayyyy!!!! Day 15 and I am STILL blogging these days of truth - except for the 2 I skipped, but I didn't like those anyway. Something or someone you couldn't live without, because you've tried living without it.

Most obvious here is my husband. Eons ago, years before we were married we had a very.... rocky patch. And it was terrible. And it was in that heartbreak at the time that I realized that I never wanted to be without him. All these years and 3 boys later, I love him even more. Could not imagine my life without him in it.

There's the boys - the Big Guy, the Bunny Bee and the Doodle Bop. Can't even go there. BUT I have never tried to live without them and I never want to.

So instead of the serious, I'm going to turn this around and give you two answers. The SOMETHING (2 something's actually) I could not live without... are Dunkin Donuts coffee and just about Any kind of red wine.

Oh yes. I have TRIED to live without them.

But I love them.

It's just too hard.

Through both pregnancies I swore off caffeine and alchohol. Well, let me rephrase that. Not one drop of alcohol, but I did have a few caffeine relapses. I don't think there was 1 single relapse with my pregnancy with the Big Guy, but with the twins? Cures a banging headache - don't judge. And besides, do you KNOW what it's like to have a 1 year old and be pregnant with twins? Yeah, sometimes you just Need.A.Freaking.Iced.Coffee.

Raised in New England I am a Dunkin Donuts girl at heart. They practically have one on every corner! Starbucks, they have those here too - but seriously, why can't a small just be a small, or a medium be a medium. And so on.

And red wine. Mmmm. Must have inherited that from my mom who always has some on hand. Love.It. In fact, marrying into a more Italian family than the one I grew up in, we are now MAKING OUR OWN RED WINE.

Iced coffee and red wine. Don't want to be without it. How well does my husband know me? Had a rough week and yesterday he came home from work and brought me - red wine. And this morning? Left me his last few dollars on his way into the office so I could get a - coffee - on the way to soccer. <3 him!

  1. I LOVE that you are not ashamed of your love of the DD! And I think it is awesome that your husband knows what to do for you when it's just been one of *those* weeks...my husband is like that too.

And actually when I was preggers with Emily, I read an article in the New England Journal of Medicine that showed a study of women who had 14 oz. or less of caffeinated beverages a day throughout their pregnancy had no birth defects or mental incapacity after 5 years.

So your occasional coffee while preggo with the twins? COMPLETELY FINE! I did it with Emily (had DD shipped to Hawaii for me!) and look at her - she's a freakin' genius!!
