Kid Activities - At home Light Switch Rave!

Starting something new with my Rhody girls on Fridays called a Blogger Pot Luck ... where we all link up with the same topic. Today is Kid Activities, so I am going to go with my all time favorite.

Dance parties

It is all the twins can talk about today since they are having one at school during their Kindergarten Fall Festival this afternoon.  Dance parties are actually something we have been doing with the boys at home since they were babies.

It started as 'Baby Dance Party' where the Big Guy would dance around while my husband and I 'helped' the twins to dance.  Once they were all toddlers (yes, only 18 months separate my oldest from the twins), things evolved into what we called Light Switch Raves.  On a kid level.

You put on good music, flip the lights on and off and even throw in some glow sticks. My kids love this!  Honestly you don't even need glow sticks (my guys just sort of expect them now).

Not only is it part of our New Years Eve tradition for the boys at home, but we try to have one every month or so - sometimes more when I remember to pick up more glow sticks.  I tell everyone...never underestimate the power of a good dance party with your kids.  It can salvage any bad day and make it into an awesome one.  It also makes for some really cool memories.  My kids love these and yours will too!
