Glow Fusion bubbles review

So... we already established how much my kids love bubbles.

But bubbles that GLOW?

Yes. I said bubbles that Glow.

We got the chance to try Super Miracle Solution Glow Fusion bubbles from Imperial Toy and the boys went crazy over it. They had first seen the ads on TV and were begging me, so when the package arrived they were beyond excited. We waited until it was just about dark and brought the kids out in their pj's and sweatshirts. My husband poured the special formulated Infusion Activators (two small packages - A and B) into the bubbles as the kids waited anxiously.

We mistakenly started to shake the pink for a moment. You don't want to shake it. It still glowed, but we didn't get the same effect as the orange - which we stirred as the directions stated. The orange? Lit up brilliantly! Instant oohs and aahs from the boys. Even with just a little bit of daylight left you can see the glow on the bubbles.

Glow Fusion bubbles retail for $4.99 and can be purchased at Target, KMart, Toys R Us and more. While they are recommended for ages 8 and up, I still thought it was still perfect for my guys - at ages 5 and 7 - as long as we did the mixing and supervised the play. Below is the boys' review. And... long after the boys went to sleep that night, Al went out to take the dog for a walk and called me outside. The bubble solution was still glowing! While I couldn't quite get the bubbles captured on camera, we could certainly see them... check out the orange glow from the bubble jar.

Little Tikes Bubble Bellies review

My kids are in love with the Little Tikes Bubble Bellies from Imperial Toy! We were sent the dog on the bottom left, but there are four different animals to choose from.

The Little Tikes Bubble Bellies retail for just $12.99 and come with an 8oz bottle of bubble solution included. Ideally for children ages 2 to 6, my five and seven year olds LOVED this. They are obsessed with bubbles to begin with - we even have a giant supply in our garage of bubble solution they have recently broken out for Spring - so they were thrilled to get this toy.

After opening the mouth of the toy, there is a spot to pour the bubbles in. I did that to minimize the kids mess, snapped shut and let them loose with it. They squeeze the handle for non-stop bubble action. What I really liked was that the toy has a clear tummy so I can easily check the level of bubble solution.

Little Tikes Bubble Bellies is sold at Target, KMart, Toys R Us and more.

Here is the Doodle Bop giving it a try. We did find that the toy works better when held completely upright - the bubbles don't stop coming out when the boys squeeze the handle. If you tilt the toy to the side too much, you will not get the same flow. Here is the boys' review below.

Zooma Splat X Smack Shot

Last but certainly not least today in our 91 days till Christmas (commence panic now) countdown! 

The Zooma Splat X Smack Shot by Imperial Toy.

It is easy to load the smack shot and the boys favorite part is the red light that goes on so you can see what you are aiming at.  Check this out.  Even before I got this thing out of the box the boys were playing with the light on the smack shot.

Then you load the smack shot and line it up.

 

And then you let it FLY!

 

 

I love this photo so much.  You have to look really close, but the Big Guy is so excited that his mouth is open, he has shut his eyes as he let it go and you can just barely see it in motion flying towards the couch.  That light orange blur in the center.  Too cute.



The boys had so much fun pulling it back and shooting at the target we cut out from the back of the box. The smack shots are soft and stretchy, so I don't have to worry about the kids getting hurt. And you know that I totally read them the riot act about how it doesn't get shot at each other (or the beloved flat screen TV in the living room) ... but I feel good about knowing someone won't (hopefully) lose an eye if someone aims wrong.

The green color smack shot is easier for my kids to launch - they can do the orange color smack shot but it requires a little more strength. Which I am loving actually.  With the Big Guy's cerebral palsy (affecting just one side of the body) he has to work just a little bit harder to use it, giving him a little exercise for his arm muscles at the same time. And he doesn't even realize it.

Loving this toy.

Kidz Bop Glammerati MegaStar Microphone

We were given the Kidz Bop Glammerati Mega Star Microphone in Blue (it also comes in pink for the ladies) from Imperial Toy to review with my children. While it took them a little while to get into this toy, after a few days they didn't want to put it down.

I think not knowing the words to the songs at first made them shy away from playing with it, but once they discovered the cheering button they were hooked. Whether they sang with it or not, they would take turns hitting the cheering button, laugh and take a bow.

The boys didn't end up playing with the included autograph book and pen, but they loved putting on the VIP pass when it was their turn for the microphone and singing along.  It was like a requirement.  You have the mike?  You wear the VIP pass.



They also discovered that they could record anything they wanted, so they could sing along and record with their favorite Kidz Bop cd's and not just the songs that were already loaded on the microphone, making for even more fun.

In addition to recording other songs, they even started recording conversations going on in other rooms... so that got a little dangerous.  My little spies.

Overall, this is definitely a fun toy... and it makes a great addition to the drum set, guitars and stand up microphone we have in the basement.  I will have the next Jonas Brothers yet!
